What We Believe

The following are the core beliefs of Vivid Church based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God is the Creator and Redeemer of the Universe

We Believe there is only One True God who is eternally existent and infinitely perfect existing and revealed in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly called the Trinity). This Godhead is both the author of all creation and the cause of all redemption (salvation).

The Bible is God's Word to Us

The Bible was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance and superintendence of the Holy Spirit protecting it from error and making it the supreme source of truth for all.

People by Nature Are Distanced From God

People in their natural condition are alienated from God and eternal life through sin and require a work of divine grace to bring them to a saving knowledge of God. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin's penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal (Abundant) Life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into their life by faith.

Jesus is God's Remedy for Sin

In Jesus, God’s Son, The Father gives Himself to us, identifying with us as the sole savior of mankind. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven, residing in power as Lord, and will one day return to bring His full and final redemption.

The Holy Spirit is Presently at Work and Comes to Indwell and Abide in Each Christian From Salvation

The Holy Spirit, as coequal with the Father and the Son, is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. Through the person of the Holy Spirit, God presents Himself to the hearts of individuals through the message of the gospel. Sent of the Father and revealing the Son, the Holy Spirit convicts, convinces, regenerates, dwells in, guides, teaches, and empowers the believer. The New Birth is the beginning of a new life in Christ through the impartation of the life of God by the Holy Spirit through believing in Jesus.

The Baptism and Gifts of the Holy Spirit

There is an additional work of the Holy Spirit resulting in greater revelation and power commonly called the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, promised and available to every believer, as demonstrated and evidenced on the day of Pentecost and in the life of the early church. Further, through the operations of the Holy Spirit, Supernatural Gifts of The Holy Spirit (including healing and miracles) are still in full operation today with the same supernatural manifestations as in the New Testament Church.

God Has Established His Church

The Church consists of all those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, and are born again of the Holy Spirit. Christ is the Head of the Body (The Church) which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the gospel to all nations.
The universal Church has its expression in the form of local assemblies. Each local church consists of a body of believers submitted to Christ, joined together for the worship of God, edification through the Word of God, prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the gospel, and observance of the ordinances of Water Baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Communion).

Christ's Return and the Eternal State

The scriptures pledge the personal, literal and visible return of the Resurrected Christ in glory and power, commonly called the “Second Coming.” At that time, He shall establish His kingdom forever, raising the dead and granting to believers the joys of entrance into His eternal and glorious kingdom of righteousness and peace. At His Coming, all opportunity to respond to His call will end with His eternal and righteous judging of all rejecters, neglectors and despisers of His Great Salvation.
